Schermerhorn Symphony Center 1 Symphony Place, Nashville, TN, 37201

Nashville Symphony which is based in the Schermerhorn Symphony Center takes the Laura Turner Concert Hall, which is 30,000 square feet hall with a shoebox style, as its home. The hall’s 30 soundproof are featured with natural lighting. And throughout, elaborated symbolic motifs are shown including coffee beans, irises, and horseshoes. The Laura Turner Concert Hall is protected from outside noise by an acoustical separation joint that prevents transmission of sound in or out.

The hall’s seats are distributed in 3 levels considering the unique choral loft behind the stage, that host people in non-choral performances. Up to 115 musicians can be accommodated on the stage. The custom-built Martin Foundation Concert Organ is shown in the hall as well. Inside the building, there are technological and acoustical features. The concert hall could be converted into a 5,700 square feet ballroom in only 2 hours.

Mike Curb Family Music Education Hall is also found in the Schermerhorn Symphony Center. It is a space of 2,438-square-foot surface that could host small shows, and it is also taken as venue by the ongoing music-education initiative, Music Education City. Besides, a public garden is located in the center; it’s the Martha Rivers Ingram Garden Courtyard. For this range of spaces it contains, the center hosts not only public events but also private ones.
